SWISS CONTEST OF THE BEST YOUNG RECEPTIONIST OF THE YEAR
NATIONAL LEVEL «BUCHERER TROPHY»

Organised by the A.I.C.R. (Amicale Internationale des Sous-Directeurs et Chefs de reception des Grands Hôtels)

The competition in which candidates from all over Switzerland will participate is divided into three different parts:

• 10 minutes for the personal presentation of the candidates curriculum vitae, further ambitions, future projects
• 15 minutes to check practical and theoretical professional knowledge
• 15 minutes to prove ability in direct guest contact

The competition is held in English in order to give the participants from different language zones an equal chance. At the same time this is an advantage for the winner as the international competition is also held in English.

Jury Members

The jury members will be personalities from the hospitality industry with a wide professional background.

The candidate

The jury decides the acceptance of the candidates upon receiving their presentation.

I. Presentation

The participants have to send in a hand or computer written presentation, including curriculum vitae and other documents which might back up the candidate’s entry. (Points breakdown: 20% for the presentation, 80% for the content).

II. Interview

The questions will be prepared by the jury. (Points breakdown: 25% for personal presentation,
25% for communication skills, 50% for the content of the answer).

III. Role play

The jury decides which scene(s) will be played. (Points breakdown: 50% for the capability of communication, body language and interpersonal skills, 50% for the contents and accuracy of answers).

The winner will be awarded the Bucherer Trophy which was created specially for this competition and will participate at the International Contest during the International Congress of the A.I.C.R.. The trip and the cost of the program for the winner are paid by A.I.C.R. Switzerland.
